Princeton Center for Molecular Diagnostics is a specialized division of Princeton biomedical laboratories. With the advent of Molecular diagnostics and pharmacogenomics in laboratory medicine, Princeton has created an dedicated division to provide fast, accurate, cutting-edge genetic diagnostic tests for patient management and research purposes with a focus on osteonecrosis, polycystic ovary disease, thrombophilia, hypofibrinolysis (thromboses or blood clotting disorders), cardiac risk factors, and pharmacogenetics.
Personalized health care at Princeton is envisioned as health care that will utilize gene-based information to understand each person’s individual requirements for the maintenance of their health, prevention of disease, and therapy tailored to their genetic uniqueness. Thus, personalized health care promises to be predictive and preventive.

Warfrin Sensitivity Testing
Princeton is offering a Warfrin Sensitivity testing for patient on Coumadin Warfrin. Warfarin is a commonly used anticoagulant in United States. It is prescribed to patients who are at risk of developing blood clots, such as persons with atrial fibrillation, recurrent strokes, deep venous thrombosis (DVT), pulmonary embolism, or those who have received heart valve replacements.
It is difficult for physicians to determine individual patient requirements for warfarin because of its narrow therapeutic index and because the metabolism of warfarin is highly variable. Bleeding remains the most serious complication despite therapeutic drug management based on INR (International Normalized Ratio) values derived from prothrombin (PT) testing (a blood test used to monitor the effectiveness of warfarin therapy).
